NICHE BRANDING PROJECT
OffSeason, 2023
Experience the delight of your favorite seasonal treats all year round with OffSeason! Let's say goodbye to post-holiday blues as we reimagine the classic wintertime treat, gingerbread cookies. Embracing an effortlessly eclectic and twistedly classic approach, OffSeason brings you joy in every bite, celebrating the holiday spirit, every season even though it "tisn't" the season. Don't wait for the holidays to roll around – savor the magic anytime!
Embarking on this creative journey from the ground up, I set out to craft a unique identity for gingerbread cookies, catering to enthusiasts like myself who enjoy them beyond just the holiday season. Through extensive brainstorming sessions, I explored numerous brand names, logotypes, and identity concepts before eventually settling on the sophisticated and refined, warm color palette reminiscent of summer vacations. It subtly hints at the festive charm of Christmas without overpowering the senses, striking a perfect balance between elegance and holiday spirit. Additionally, I created a larger presence for the brand with collateral such as advertisements, a website, an imaginary Instagram account, mugs to pair nicely with the cookies, and a cookbook with recipes for every season!
USFCA GRAPHIC DESIGN ASSISTANT WORK
Digital and Printed Assets
At USFCA Career Services, I am part of the Marketing & Graphics Team. As a Graphic Design Assistant, it is
my duty to bring my creative visions to life to advertise our events from our business partners and supervisors. I utilize Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign to create both digital and printed assets such as posters, TV ads, banners, social media content, and merchandise. Here are a few of my favorites!

VISUAL SHORT STORY BOOK
The Missing Third, 2023
A third of our life is spent sleeping. During this time, our minds are in limbo suspended between the real and the imaginary. Dreams are a powerful unlimited state of being unrestricted by reality, ego and the rational. Dreams blur boundaries and can transcend us into different worlds and adventures and can explore past memories and future ideas. The Missing Third is a visual hardcover book that incorporates AI imagery to explore the versatility and uniqueness of our dream worlds. For this collection of dreams, I reached out to my social media following and prompted them to fill out a form telling me about their wildest dreams. I then utilized MidJourney, an AI imagery software that is guided by prompts and stories given by the user to create the visuals. Just like dreams, the technology of AI meshes together elements to create a unique perspective that is not rooted in reality. From the creative dream submissions, I added illustrative language to immerse the reader, you, into new dream worlds. Read through to see the fabricated memories of my friends, family, and strangers and discover where they’ve spent their missing third.
REBRAND
Job Fest "Do What You Love Rebrand," 2023
"Do What You Love" is a rebrand for the most popular event of the year at USFCA Career Services, Job Fest. After hearing the USFCA students' feedback about our office, the Marketing Team and I wanted to highlight and celebrate successful people in specific career fields, emphasizing BIPOC, people of color, and the career fields that are underrepresented on our campus. We want all students to believe in themselves and understand that they can create and pursue careers from their passions and interests by doing what they love! My team and I were inspired by the artistic movement of dadaism and collages to create the rebranded aesthetic of Job Fest.
EDITORIAL MAGAZINE
Feminist Magazine, "Audacity" 2022
My feminist magazine "AUDACITY" is based on the common phrase women use "the audacity!" This phrase is used when men continue to say and use sexist ideology against women in the modern world, ugh the audacity! Right? This grunge and rebellious magazine intends to empower and validate women's fears and feelings about being a woman in 2022. I directed a photoshoot for the cover and contents of the magazine as well as utilizing my photos from past female-led protests I have attended. I used filler text of my choice, feminist articles I was inspired by, making sure to credit the writers who wrote them.
OPENER SPREAD
Printed Magazine, 2022
I was challenged to create two entirely different spreads to communicate the theme of an article in an opener spread for a magazine. The article is called "Dispatch From Portland" which has urgent and chaotic, and slightly political undertones. I was inspired by the chaos expressed in the article to create a bold statement of disarray in the opener on the left through the mode of typography. On the right, I was inspired by vintage elements and connected the word "dispatch" to dispatched phone calls to communicate a sense of urgency and the color red to communicate a political association.
EDITORIAL MAGAZINE
Skateboarding Is (Not) a Crime, 2021
"Skateboarding is (not) a crime" is a magazine article that explores and examines the world of typography found within the skateboarding community. Throughout the article, I discuss how typography has the power to determine who is allowed within the skating community and who is not allowed and where. I communicate this division and sense of authority through the colors of the different organized spreads. The authoritarian spreads where skating is prohibited are in black in white, illustrating a sense of rigidness and strictness through the colors and the grid layout. The green spreads break free from restraint by breaking the grid through text and multicolored imagery. This is a tribute to how skaters can repurpose any given landscape and bring life and community to what most would deem a boring space. In this article, I was able to write and produce all imagery.
ILLUSTRATED BOOK COVER
"Inconstant Moon," 2021
When you see a book on the shelf with planets, rockets, outer space, or superheroes, it is a good guess to assume it is a SciFi book. Challenging the typical SciFi aesthetic, I created a nontraditional SciFi book cover for the short story, Inconstant Moon, by Larry Niven in 1971- a story about the forever illuminating moon and sun that will cause the destruction of Earth and everyone on it. I prompted to use more elegant and old-fashioned typefaces paired with a simple color palette and additional elements of outer space like the moon and stars, which are vital to the story Inconstant Moon.
